Joe Moidel

Director of Operations and Planning

Joe Moidel is the Director of Operations and Planning for PCORE Exploration & Production II, LLC. Joe has 12 years of experience in drilling and completions engineering with a specialty in fishing tools in both domestic onshore and offshore operations, as well as international deep-water operations.

Prior to PCORE, Moidel served as both a Staff Completions Engineer and Senior Drilling Engineer for the Permian Asset Team at Pioneer Natural Resources, where he helped the company transition from a pure vertical to a pure horizontal Midland Basin producer, by overseeing their first horizontal Wolfcamp wells while supporting a 40+ rig vertical program spread across the entire Midland Basin.

Prior to working at Pioneer, Moidel was the Operations Manager for Baker Hughes’s Marcellus Shale Completions and Fishing district based in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. Moidel successfully managed a $25M profit and loss center and a team of 40 employees with zero injuries. Moidel was identified as a high potential employee in the top 5% of 53,100 employees at Baker Hughes and was trusted with responsibilities as Operations Manager covering all aspects of field operations, including safety, revenue and profitability, personnel HR management, inventory, engineering, quality control and customer engagement.

Moidel graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He holds one patent for a reverse circulating wellbore clean up tool, and he is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Drilling Engineers. Moidel is a certified personal trainer and also enjoys a round of golf and sporting clays.
